La plupart de nos grands hommes sont bien plus grands, comparativement à ceux des autres pays, où la vie est règlementée, où l'on considère l'élément humain comme facteur principal de progrès. Le réseau inextricable des difficultés naturelles, jointes à celles bien plus nombreuses encore semées (sur la route de l'Haïtien) par la malignité de son entourage, fait de son passage sur cette île comme un séjour dans le purgatoire. La vie de ces grands lutteurs ne fait l'objet d'aucune analyse qui eut permis de découvrir peut-être l'origine de la crise... dont souffre le pays... et pourtant, ces hommes malgré tout, contribuent à enrichir la pensée haïtienne.
